# Set up Civema business email in Outlook

https://civema.com/en/knowledgebase/article/set-up-civema-business-email-in-outlook

First verify that your mailbox password works in Civema webmail. Your Civema customer-account password is separate. This service uses IMAP, not Microsoft 365 or Exchange.

Use IMAP: kurumsal.civema.com, port 993 with SSL/TLS. SMTP: kurumsal.civema.com, port 587 with STARTTLS or 465 with SSL/TLS. Both require your full email address and mailbox password. Enable outgoing server authentication.

## Add the account

1. In classic Outlook, open File and Add Account. In new Outlook, use Settings and Accounts.
2. Enter the full address and choose manual/advanced IMAP setup if automatic detection is incorrect.
3. Enter the incoming and outgoing settings, including SMTP authentication.
4. Save, allow synchronization and test with another address you control.

Check Sent folders in webmail. IMAP does not automatically synchronize calendars and contacts. Preserve local archives before deleting an old profile. Never bypass a certificate warning; verify the hostname and device time. For changing menu labels, see [Microsoft's setup guide](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/getstarted/add-an-email-account-to-outlook-for-windows?offer=add-linebreak).
